Darryl Erasmus

Tourism and Hospitality sector specialist, Darryl Erasmus is the Managing Director of TrevPAR World Global Distribution and the co-owner of Blaze Integrated Hospitality Marketing Agency.

Darryl, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Marketing and Business Strategy has also completed the Global Executive Development Program offered by the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). He has considerable commercial experience in sales, marketing and communications in the hospitality, tourism, technology and financial services environment with emphasis on channel and distribution management.

He is well known to the hospitality sector after spending a number of years in a myriad of operational, sales and marketing roles. These experiences he garnered with well-known brands such as Protea Hotels, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza.

He led marketing and corporate communications efforts across Africa for the Travel Commerce Platform, Travelport, before taking up the role of Divisional Chief Executive at Questek, a technology provider in the passenger transportation sector.

As the Chief Quality Assurance Officer and managing executive responsible for Brand and Visitor Experience at South African Tourism from 2015 to 2020, Darryl guided all Quality Assurance, Brand Experience, Visitor Experience and Global Trade functions for Destination South Africa in support of the overarching South African Tourism DMO strategies.

Darryl is a distinguished award recipient of CEO Global‘s: Building Nations Awards – Country Winner (South Africa) ; Regional Winner (SADC) and Continental Winner (Africa) in the Government: Employed Official Sector 2018.
